Journalism, Activism and Media for Youth - JAMY

The project "Journalism, Activism and Media for Youth" (short name: JAMY) is implemented in partnership with the Union of High School Students of Serbia.
The project's main aim is to strengthen youth journalism as a conduit for civic activism directed towards solving community problems.

Specific objectives:

1. To empower young people to act as youth journalists and active citizens in local communities.

2. To contribute to the development of local communities through youth activism.

To track the fulfillment of the specific objectives of the project, we foresaw a set of results:

 • Journalism and media sections and clubs are strengthened to identify important community and young people's problems, needs, and interesting topics and to produce a wide range of media content covering them. • Improved quality and standards of JM-SC for investigative reporting, media literacy, and the fight against fake news in Serbia.

• Youth journalists and future media workers develop their skills and knowledge in making high-quality, local-need-focused media material.

• Youth journalists who report on local problems, happenings, and processes of EU integrations will strengthen their capacities for understanding different areas of the aforementioned reporting areas and for their effective and comprehensible transmission to a wider interested public. • Partners’ members in charge of media have raised their capacities to effectively contribute to the visibility and communication adjusted to different groups

• Local youth groups are informed, empowered, educated, and supported to initiate and implement short- and long-term activities, projects, and programs.

• Stakeholders from different interest groups are connected and engaged in joining synergies and capacities towards common goals.

• Impact on individuals, entities, and communities created by project implementation is disseminated and promoted publicly. The objectives are linked to the priorities, as they vastly contribute to spreading common EU values of democracy through media & journalism and activism support, by providing space for young people to take initiative
