The project aims to respond to the insufficient involvement of young people in decision-making processes. Most cities, municipalities and counties in the Republic of Croatia do not have youth councils / youth advisory boards established in accordance with the Act on Youth Councils. In communities where the councils exist, they mostly do not function well and there are no ways to monitor youth involvement.
The activities of the project are aimed at strengthening the advocacy position of civil society organizations and strengthening the meaningful participation of young people in advisory bodies at the local and regional level. Based on the results of a research on the needs and practices that will be conducted during the project, we will define an advocacy toolkit, guidelines and tools for creating, monitoring and evaluating youth programs that will be presented to the general public and targeted audiences. These guidelines and tools will be used in further education of youth councils.
Through a bilateral cooperation with our Norwegian partner, Lindesness Municipality, we will learn about their experience, knowledge and examples of good practices. The lead organisation is Info zona, research activities will be coordinated by Associataion Delta, and advocacy activities by the Association of Cities of the Republic of Croatia. The project will be implemented from September 1, 2022 to October 31, 2023.
The project is supported with €75.000,00 in funding from Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway within the European Economic Area and Norwegian grants framework.
