The main objective of the project is to increase the participation of young people in the local community by strengthening the dialogue between young people and decision-makers through the implementation of the Youth Program of the City of Rijeka 2023-2030.

Specific objectives include:

• raise awareness about the importance of dialogue with young people among the members of the City’s administration,
• increase young people's knowledge about decision-making processes,
• empower the members of the Youth Council of the City of Rijeka to advocate for relevant policies for young people,
• gather a community of youth work practitioners in the City of Rijeka for the implementation of the City of Rijeka Youth Program 2023-2030.

Through the project activities, young people will be included in creating operational plans for the Youth Program of the City of Rijeka in the areas of Education and (self)employment, Welfare and independence of young people and Empowerment and dialogue. They will also be involved in planning and implementing these activities and the process will enable them to acquire knowledge and skills that will help them in their future education and work.

The members of the Youth Council of the City of Rijeka will be empowered for active participation in decision-making and advocating for relevant policies related to the new Youth Program of the City of Rijeka. They will improve their facilitation skills for the dialogue between young people and decision-makers, so that they can be better representatives of young people in the City of Rijeka and convey their needs to the authorities.

The main outcomes planned for the members of the student council are to include them in the decision-making processes using innovative digital tools for increasing participation and to establish a dialogue between high school students, members of the Youth Council and decision-makers in the relevant thematic areas of the Rijeka Youth Program 2023-2030.

The main outcomes planned for decision-makers of the City of Rijeka are to prepare them for a meaningful dialogue with young people in the implementation of the City of Rijeka Youth Program 2023-2030.

The project is implemented by the City of Rijeka (lead), Centre of Technical Culture Rijeka and Association Delta. The activities will be implemented from 1/1/2023 to 31/12/2024.
