The project aims to empower young people and create spaces and opportunities for their stronger involvement in decision-making processes at the local level in Rijeka, Opatija and Križevci – certified Cities for Youth. The project activities include all important stakeholders in the community (decision-makers, youth advisory boards, youth workers and young people themselves). The activities are designed to enable young people (mainly high school students) to develop new ideas, and to present and discuss them in places where decisions are actually made – in city halls and city administration offices. They do this by simulating the work of the city council, which in turn increases their knowledge about the local government and reduces their distrust in politics. The best ideas are implemented in the abovementioned communities, with financial support from the city budgets (660,00 EUR per city).

The main activities include training for youth advisory boards, training for youth workers, education and direct youth work and structured dialogue activities through the implementation of the "Take action!" model, which the City of Rijeka and the Association Delta have been successfully implementing for 17 years. 

The project "Think, act, participate! - Strengthening Youth Participation Through Active Involvement in Policy-making and Advocacy" is implemented by the Association Delta in partnership with the City of Rijeka, the City of Opatija and the City of Križevci. The project is co-financed by the Central State Office for Demography and Youth, the City of Rijeka, the City of Opatija and the City of Križevci.
