Students know how to shape their ideas into project proposals

ABOUT ACTIVITY

On Friday, December 16th, 2022, and Wednesday, January 25th, 2023, we held two workshops on how to write a project proposal for the students at the University of Rjieka. Through the workshops, we empowered students to turn their ideas into project proposals and apply them to the Student Union call for projects for the academic year 2022/2023.

Around twenty students from four faculties developed nine project ideas – everything from organizing a sports day to developing a rocket. We emphasized the importance of cooperation, understanding the needs of the target group as well as the importance of organizing activities which would most easily lead to realizing set goals. Some of the participants were experienced in combining several sources for financing, and some were just getting familiar with the basics of project logic. We also discussed the differences between a project and a program, the impact of inflation on expense planning, the challenges of conducting activity in the context of high academic expectations, the position of student organizations and student representatives compared to the faculty management and other less active students.

We are always happy to hear how young people who actively contribute to their (student) community think, and calls for proposals such as this one provide an excellent opportunity for them to organize valuable activities and practice how to prepare and implement projects. The application deadline is January 31st 2023 and you can find it here.

The workshop was conducted in cooperation with and with the financial support of the University of Rijeka Student Union.
